He was a troubled soul Going rogue Chasing the bottom of a bottle His heart was going slow He was getting old He thought he’d never be a lover It’s easier to say he meant nothing anyway Instead of lending a hand Push him to the side go on with your life He’s grown skin and bone he’ll be fine. He was the sweetest guy Beautiful mind Lost in a world gone mad He had such gorgeous eyes And the way he smiled Made all of my pain worth while It’s easier to say he meant nothing anyway Instead of lending a hand Push him to the side go on with your life He’s grown skin and bone he’ll be fine I hope that you are fine Though I’m breaking inside Don’t care what they say I won’t ignore you Untill my end of days I’ll remember your name Mi amor, Mi amor I adore you.

I think I’ve made my feelings clear When I said I’d follow you anywhere Don’t think I strayed far from the truth Oh I live my life for you To think I’d live a different life (to think I’d live a different life) Never knowing who you were To think I’d live a different life, oh I’d give it, oh for you I’d give it all up for you You’re the moon I’ll never hold And the time I won’t get back You’re the wind that pushes me And the reason I feel cold You’re the dream I want to come true So everything I do I do it all for you I know that time’ll just keep moving Even if I try and slow it down To save myself from hurting you Oh I’ll leave my love with you To think I’d almost never known The way it feels to look inside To think I’d almost never known The way it feels to look to deep inside you soul You’re the moon I’ll never hold And the time I don’t get back You’re the wind that pushes me and the reason I feel cold You’re the dream I want to come true So everything I do I do it all for you I do it all for you

Hope you think its' nothing, Cause thats what I say over text, I don't know what to do next, I'm overthinking and I've got a creak in my neck, Trying to catch my breath. Cause truth is I miss your stupid face, And those bad old days, those bad old days, And truth is I miss the rain, From those bad old days, those bad old days. Don't come crying to me cause youre the one who messed up, I don't want to be crushed, Wrap your arms around me and tell me that I'll be ok, But you're lying to me. Cause truth is I miss your stupid face, And those bad old days, those bad old days, And truth is I miss the rain, From those bad old days, those bad old days. I'm listening, listening... Cause truth is I miss your stupid face, And those bad old days, those bad old days, And truth is I miss the rain, From those bad old days, those bad old days. I miss the rain, miss the rain, miss the rain...

You’ve caught my eye once again You seem to draw attention It’s dangerous to play with someone you’ve never met before You look brand new I want more I’ll make you feel good I’ll make you feel nice I’ll give you something real Just for one night Slowly let me in You’re falling too fast It’s no fun if they don’t last Don’t get confused I just wanna use you Come on let’s go and play All through the night Until the bright sun tells me that it’s time I’ll possess you Its more if obsession than love Don’t you feel drawn to me Don’t you find me so appealing Let’s make a bet swear you’ll lose Can’t you already feel time slowing down It’s just you and me from now on Don’t get confused I just wanna use you Come on let’s go and play All through the night Until the bright sun tells me that it’s time I’ll possess you I’ll possess you Your back is turned and your eyes closed It seems like you lose Don’t get confused I just wanna use you Come on let’s go and play all through the night until the bright sun tells me that it’s time I’ll possess you I’ll possess you

It had gone so very wrong Blood was dripping down the walls I never seen a smile that led me so far astray It took me a while I looked in your eyes Told me all they needed to say And I watched you there Like a deer in the headlights Waiting for the fall My throat was caught And my body was rigid But I couldn’t feel it all Didn’t prepare for this treachery How could you do this to me? Took my heart and then you tore Rotten at your very core I never seen a smile that led me so far astray It took me a while I looked in your eyes Told me all they needed to say And I watched you there Like a deer in the headlights Waiting for the fall My throat was caught And my body was rigid But I couldn’t feel it all You call my name But my head is pounding I can’t hear a sound I have to say that I do feel calmer When you’re not around And I watched you there Like a deer in the headlights Waiting for the fall My throat was caught And my body was rigid I can’t feel it all

Take me away I long for a journey To the edge Take me away We leave in the morning For the edge Find me a town Where the streets are deserted On the edge Bring me around To where it all started On the edge Take me away Take me away I long for a journey To the edge Come with me We leave in the morning For the edge

Fly little robin, You've got me sobbin' Please don't leave me all on my own She's breaking, You're making it Harder than it needs to be (harder than it needs to be) Hands are shaking, In the making of A classic case of teenage blues, Although you're almost twenty two It's just you, it's just you, it's just you Outside my window, Or in my dreams, It's hard when I see you cause you're not here for me She's breaking, You're making it Harder than it needs to be (harder than it needs to be) Hands are shaking, In the making of A classic case of teenage blues, Although you're almost twenty two Sometimes life doesn't go to plan, I'd like to stick to my plan (like to stick to my plan) She's breaking, You're making it Harder than it needs to be (harder than it needs to be) Hands are shaking, In the making of A classic case of teenage blues, Although you're almost twenty two It's just you, it's just you...

I walked too far and now I’m on my knees, my knees, my knees I feel it from my fingers to my toes I bit off more than I could chew I’m broken, right in half, in two I don’t know what the hell to do I don’t, I don’t, I don’t An arm, a leg It must be said I don’t know how to get up very well And though I shake and nearly break I’ll get up again Some days, I feel fine, I feel well But other days it feels like I’m having a tug of war with myself (myself) It’s a struggle all the time It’s like nothing’s ever right But if I try to see Oh, if I try to be alright, I might I walked too far and now I’m on my knees, my knees, my knees I feel it from my fingers to my toes The feeling never goes away The night can sometimes dull the day But I know how to keep it at bay I know, I know, I know An arm, a leg It must be said I don’t know how to get up very well And though I shake and nearly break I’ll get up again Some days, I feel fine, I feel well But other days it feels like I’m having a tug of war with myself (myself) It’s a struggle all the time It’s like nothing’s ever right But if I try to see Oh, if I try to be alright, I might

about

JEMZ is a SubSounds production. SubSounds Music Collective was set up in 2009 by Alternative Entertainments Arts Group to give young musicians in South County Dublin space and opportunity to write, arrange, rehearse, record and perform their own music. Each year the collective releases an end-of-project album featuring some of the songs written by the current crop of young members. The most recent of these releases is SubSounds: Class of 2020.

JEMZ is the first in a new series of releases by the collective that will focus on work done by smaller numbers of songwriters. This album showcases the work of four young female singer/songwriters from South County Dublin.

JEMZ is supported by Creative Ireland as part of Cruinniú na nÓg South Dublin's 2020 programme.

SubSounds is a partnership between Alternative Entertainments, Music Generation South Dublin and CONTACT Studio (an initiative of South Dublin County Council Arts Office).
